A coffee shop in New York City called "Round K" has this black matte latte on the menu.
Ockhyeon Byeon, who not only run's the Korean style coffee shop, but created the drink, say's that his customers inspired him because they like to order black coffee.
This drink is created using espresso, cacao powder, almond milk, & I bet you expected activated charcoal, our trendy ingredient this year, but it's actually organic coconut ash that give's this latte its black color.
People are surprised to find that it is deliciously sweet as well. Another plus for many people is that it's not only non-dairy, but also vegan.
They also have two other interesting beverages to satisfy your taste buds. Wasabi lattes & egg cappuccinos.
Byeon stated that his customers love the drink & he'd like to make it a permanent menu option.
